The Minister of the Economy, Production Recovery and the Digital Sector presented a communication on the progress of the 34 plans for the New Industrial France.
On 12 September the President of the French Republic launched a phase of industrial renewal. The pooling of productive forces around this common objective, with the support of State tools, is beginning to bear fruit. Appointed in autumn 2013, the programme leaders, primarily industrial, have proved equal to the task with the support of more than 500 people working in the project teams, which notably represent 250 companies, with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and medium-sized companies accounting for two thirds.
Nine roadmaps have already been validated, with the others to follow suit before the summer. The 34 plans are therefore entering their implementation phase, establishing their status as levers for economic recovery. For the 27 plans with the most advanced maps, the total investment could reach €18bn by 2020.
Specifically regarding the “Factory of the future” plan, i.e. the digital, robot-assisted, energy and raw materials-efficient factory that respects its workers, a massive investment plan has been undertaken to notably help French SMEs and industries to adopt these new production methods, which will make the difference in global competition tomorrow.
